InterSystems Wins Common Use Project at Bangor International
Wednesday, 24 December 2008 21:56

Bangor, Maine (December 2008) - Bangor International Airport (BGR), located in the heart of Maine, is one of the fastest-growing regional airports in the United States. Because of the rapid growth they are experiencing, BGR has instituted a program to improve the efficiency of operations throughout the airport terminal and InterSystems’ breakthrough Common-Use Solution is their system of choice.

The solution will provide a shared, standardized platform for airlines to process passengers at departure gates and possibly ticket counters. It will also include a Local Departure Control System (LDCS) to provide check-in and boarding services for smaller airlines.

InterSystems, in co-operation with business partner RESA, offers one of the most affordable yet comprehensive common-use solutions in the market today.

BGR has selected the InterSystems/RESA Common Use Solution to maximize the efficient use of terminal space and greatly facilitate airline operations throughout the airport. Reliable, secure and proven, it will reduce support costs and enable integration with other airport systems such as flight information display and dynamic signage systems. Passengers can expect easier and faster passage through the terminal.

Located on a major air corridor between Europe and the North Eastern United States, BGR is typically the first or last stop on American soil for men and women serving in the United States Military travelling to or from Iraq and other international destinations. Bangor has enthusiastically greeted over 500,000 troops that have passed through the airport since 2003.
