InterSystems Completes Installation at Detroit's International Airport |

Detroit, Michigan - InterSystems completed its installation at Detroit’s International Airport-North Terminal Complex (DTW). This is a $2 billion dollar renovation and expansion project encompassing some 26 Gates that services Domestic and International Air Carriers. For this installation, InterSystems installed its world-class product RapidFIDS, Flight Information Display System (FIDS) along with Visual Paging throughout the terminal and new state of the art Touchscreen Baggage Input Consoles (TBID) in the Baggage Makeup Area. Additionally, InterSystems provided integration to the CUTE the Check-in and Gate counters by offering its iCUTE and iGATE products for the CUTE system.
InterSystems is partnered with Ferndale Electric for this turnkey project. The scope of the project included the delivery of:
- The latest RapidFIDS and RapidAIMS foundation
- 100+ Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD) and GMC Display Controllers,
- 2 Light Emanating Diode (LED) Boards and 8 Baggage Makeup CRTs,
- State of the art Touchscreen Baggage Input Consoles,
- Interfaces to CUTE, Clock, and airlines
- FIMS Interface to United Airline,
- Installation, integration, training and maintenance services.

DTW presently ranks as one of the country's top 20 busiest airports for Domestic travel, 34.8 million passengers, served in 2008 and is considered the 10th busiest airport for International travel.
