InterSystems Installs RapidFIDS for Montego Bay Jamaica
Thursday, 25 May 2006 21:18

Montego Bay, Jamaica- InterSystems installed its latest version of RapidFIDS on Linux for the new terminal at Sangster International Airport. The Sangster International Airport is a tourist hub and the gateway for a major sector of the Jamaican economy. Image in this situation is almost as important as function.

InterSystems’ screens were selected for their visual appeal along with InterSystems’ leading RapidFIDS system functionality. The installation was centered around RapidFIDS- the InterSystems FIDS module of its AODB, RapidAIMS. Along with RapidFIDS, InterSystems provided and installed new FIDS infrastructure for the airport: 17 (32’’) LCD screens and GMC video controllers, workstations with peripherals, Video Over CAT5 extenders, and HP servers running Red Hat Linux. All of the work was planned and installed inside of one month.

Apart from the FIDS system and its infrastructure, InterSystems was contracted to install other terminal components. This second phase of the project included an IVRS system interface, FIDS web-server interface, and a GPS master clock with 10 LED clock screens. A third phase is planned that will install additional LCD screens that will more than double the amount of LCDs throughout the airport.

InterSystems is pleased that the beautiful shores of Montego Bay have joined the InterSystems family of satisfied airport customers.
