SEATTLE-TACOMA– Sea-Tac International Airport has opened a new $126 million-dollar renovation project of its central terminal. InterSystems is the supplier of all the LCD and LED screens for the FIDS upgrade. InterSystems partnered with EC Company to install 4 large Daktronics Datatrac LED screens, 30 NEC 40’’ LCD screens, and 15 GMCs to drive the system.
The renovation features the aptly named Pacific Marketplace– the newly designed main terminal area featuring new dinning and shopping. The Pacific Marketplace demands attention, first from its unique 350-ft wide, 65-ft high window wall, its numerous Seattle-themed aesthetic features and its fine quality FIDS displays.
A simple news search reveals unanimous approval for the central terminal renovation and the workmanship it represents. The striking effect of InterSystems’ displays amongst this grand environment were not lost on John Gillie, Tacoma News Tribune reporter, who made note of the commanding LED screens in his May 1st, 2005 article about the Pacific Marketplace, “expansive screens show aircraft departure information on the marketplace's eastern wall, giving travelers a constant update on their flights…”
The SEA-TAC upgrade is another in a growing list of examples of quality InterSystems work InterSystems has been installing and maintaining airport information systems and related hardware world-wide for over 30 years. RapidFIDS, the InterSystems flight information display system, is the flagship product of a suite of airport solutions including RapidAIMS (AODB), RapidGATE (GMS), RapidACIS (Retail Performance), and RapidADS (Multimedia Advertising).
